Barcelona, capital of Catalonia, is the second largest city in Spain.

It is a cosmopolitan, avant-garde city that lives in perpetual motion. Its most visited monument is the iconic, unfinished masterpiece by Gaudi, La Sagrada Familia.
Barcelona's famous mile-long street La Rambla is the first port of call for most visitors to Barcelona. Crammed with street performances, craft stalls, flower stalls, portrait painters and more, Las Ramblas is a lively place. Numerous cafes and bars line Barcelona's most famous street, alongside theatres, historic churches and even a Joan Miro mural.
Also popular is Barcelona's adjacent old town Gothic Quarter (the Barri Gotic and La Ribera districts). These areas of the city contain some of Barcelona's most historic sights and classic examples of Catalan Gothic alongside the remains of ancient Roman walls. Barcelona Cathedral is here too.
The major Barcelona art museums include the Picasso Museum in Barcelona's Ribera Gothic Quarter, the Joan Miro Foundation at Montjuic and the National Catalan Art Gallery, also at Montjuic.
Nightlife in Barcelona is famously diverse, with countless tapas bars, cafes and clubs for all tastes. During the day you can lounges on the lovely little beaches and enjoy various water sports.
