Airport and check-in

Check-in

Make your trip easier

Find out everything you need to make check-in simple and fast. Our goal : to simplify your life by ensuring that our flights are on time.

Check-in deadline

There is a check-in deadline for all Air France flights. You will not be able to board the plane after this time.
This deadline ensures your comfort and that of the other passengers :

  • You won't delay the flight,
  • You avoid any unnecessary stress,
  • You can select the best seat on the plane,
  • You can do some shopping and relax before departure

Remember that passengers can bring only a single piece of hand luggage with them in the cabin and must carry some form of valid identification that contains a picture.

Feel free to consult these schedules to find out about any changes in check-in deadlines.

Same-day round trip

On medium-haul flights in Europe, you can check-in once for a same-day round trip if you travel without luggage. This will eliminate the need for any check-in formalities when you return.

End-to-end check-in

If you have a connecting flight at Paris-Charles de Gaulle 2, you will receive all your boarding passes at once when you depart. You retain them until your final destination. Your baggge is also checked from end to end.

If your flight is overbooked

Like all the major airlines, Air France books more seats than are available on any given flight. Between 20 to 25 % of the passengers who have made a reservation do not show up for the flight they have booked. Overbooking enables us to maintain our attractive fares and to carry millions of additional passengers.
Air France attemps to limit the consequences for our passengers of overbooking by :

  • Requesting that passengers voluntarily agree to change their flight
  • Offering compensation

Air France was the first company to offer such compensation even if the voluntary passenger eventually leaves on the flight booked. Air France will also suggest rerouting passengers as soon as possible and will assume responsibility for any lodging expenses.

Internet check-in

With Internet check-in, you can choose your seat and receive your boarding pass anytime from 30 hours* prior to the departure of your flight. You can also print it at the airport using a Self-service Kiosk or at a check-in counter.

* 24 hours for flights departing from or arriving in Mauritius, Lebanon, Hungary and Delhi.

Make your life simpler

With online check-in, you can select your seat using a cabin plan, and decide how you will receive your boarding pass. You can choose to :

  • print it at a Self-service Kiosk or check-in counter upon arrival at the airport.

* to take advantage of the SMS service, your mobile telephone must have an Internet connection.

If you have baggage, check this in at the "e-service - baggage drop-off" counter at the airport before the check-in deadline for your flight. If there is no "e-service - baggage drop-off" counter, please go to the check-in counter for your flight.

If you are traveling without baggage, you can go directly to the boarding gate before the time limit for boarding printed on your boarding pass :

  • 15 minutes prior to flight departure, between Paris-Orly and short-haul destinations,
  • 20 minutes prior to flight departure, between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and short or medium-haul destinations,
