Regional was formed by the merger of three regional airlines
Regional Compagnie Aérienne Européenne was formed on 30 March 2001 from the merger of three regional subsidiaries of the Air France Group: Flandre Air (headquartered in Lille), Proteus Airlines (headquartered in Dijon and Saint-Etienne) and Regional Airlines (headquartered in Nantes), which decided to pool their talents and resources to ensure sustained growth.
